A special colonial-era musical program, "By Concord Little Things Grow Great," presented by musicians and historians Jim and Maggi Dalton, will be an essential part of the menu during the September 11, 2010, "Tavern Night," 5 to 7 p.m., which is part of the ongoing celebration of the Cape Ann Museum's White-Ellery House (1710-2010) 300th Anniversary.
The Dalton's "Tavern Night" program will include selections of music from the 17th- to mid-18th century, and will include historical anecdotes and other narrative information which will enhance, entertain, and inform the audience. There will also be some participatory songs.
Following the Dalton's performance of music festive, captivating, and seasonal, the Museum will be serving food and beverages of the time. The Daltons will present music both vocal and instrumental, using period-appropriate instruments, such as lute, cittern, and recorder.
The Cape Ann Museum's historic White-Ellery House (1710-2010) is located at 245 Washington Street, just off the Grant Circle Rotary at the gateway to Gloucester.
Space and seating is limited. For ticket information contact the Cape Ann Museum 27 Pleasant Street Gloucester MA 01930 978-283-0455 www.capeannmuseum.org.
